A blank page mocks me. It tells me that I am not good enough to type a few words. To sketch an idea so simple To write a melody To paint the sun A mirror taunts me. It screams that I will never posses enough grace. To look the part To charm another To dance a solo The sky casts me out. It shuns me for my lack of freedom. To live with independence To speak for myself To live with purpose Another will never understand. No one will ever comprehend my wishes. For a sharp mind For a graceful body For a free spirit

Breathe in, Breathe out, And walk on by, Because they will never see the girl without a mind. They lie, She cries, But no one hears, Because they will never listen to the girl without a mind, She lays, And weeps, And never sleeps, Because they will never love the girl without a mind. She runs, She flies, And never looks back, Because they will not remember the girl without a mind.

I stop. What was that? My hands begin to shake. Sleepless nights for days on end and I start to dream awake. I freeze. Terror-stricken. As tears roll down my face. Adolescence is, no doubt, a monster. It is a quaking, hate-spewing monster and at the mere mention of it, your blood runs cold. When Childhood was your life, all was well. But after a specific amount of time, varying between separate children, you developed a very child-like demand for more. And that's exactly what you got. Are you pleased with yourself? Yes, you have now reached the adolescent phase of your life: The In-between Years. These are the crucial years in which you learn to form your own personal opinions and ideas.
